Cabin 2009

So every year around the summer time the Shumway clan gets together to go to the Brown family cabin in Island Park... Luckily I was now a family member by a good four months so I was able to attend. It was amazing.. The lake was beautiful and the company was even better.
The cabin built by Grandpa Brown.

Our little beach

Me and my super cute niece.. she loved the water..

Sitting on the dock of the bay..:)

Creating fun things to do... I got launched by my hubby and er brother..tee hee love ya morg

Derick and I at Howard Springs... Almost the entire family participated in the dipping of your face in the freezing cold but refreshing water... I didn't do so well but it was fun either way... I can proudly say that Derick dominated Morgan in the time contest.. I was very impressed with my new hubby and we took away 50 bucks  for the win...

Sadie me and Greggor kickin it.

THE INTRUDERS

So apparently they have huge bats in Idaho and they enjoy sneaking in peoples cabins... this is the creepiest thing ever.. I was on the phone for this little capture sadly but the pictures were more then enough for me.

Derick looks so scared, i love this picture cause he is freaking out...

The capture... ha ha ha Where did Derick go??

I was a little relieved that I wasn't there for this incident and I thought that I was in the clear... ha ha ya right.. So one night Derick and I headed off to our bed for our relaxing vacations rest... we decided to take the pups upstairs with us to watch a movie (Toy Story) ha ha and of course D passed out... I was hanging out watching the movie and all of a sudden heard wings flapping above me.. I freaked out covered my head and punched Derick. I begged him literally BEGGED him to turn on the light so we could find out what was in our room. I thought the k9's would have protected us but they were just looking at us dumbfounded. It was pretty funny! Finally after much persuading Derick got up and turned on the light.. after we searched and searched we came to the consensus that it was a bat but it must have flown up to the loft above us... Ok so I can't just ignore that and just go to bed. Derick hopped back in and was ready for bed... What the heck, there was no way I was going to sleep in a room with an uncaptured BAT... I told Derick to at least shut the bathroom door so I would feel a little bit better in case they came in thru the windows.. as he was going to shut it he heard splashing around in our toilet... long story short this is what he found:

So So So Creepy!!

I will never forget my first cabin experience with my new family.. It was so much fun and obviously entertaining..

Honeymoon....

Chillin poolside.

So after our beautiful wedding day we stayed in a cute little bed and breakfast in Salt Lake for our honeymoon night and then jetted out of Salt Lake airport the next morning. We flew to Texas where we loaded up on the Carnival cruise ship and headed out to our three tiered destination. I have never been on a cruise so I was VERY excited.. With all the unlimited treats and meals I felt like a kid in the candy shop. We had fun! I think by far our favorite thing to do was get our ice cream which was awesome and then walk the boat at night and peer overboard at the beautiful ocean.

Notice the ice cream.... ha ha

Getting trained on how to save our lives if Titanic happened again. We rocked orange!

They sang "happy honeymoon to you" our first night. It was so funny!
Right off the boat.

Our trip itinerary included a FIRST STOP to Grand Cayman where we walked around and checked out the shops and then decided last minute to go to the Turtle Farms.. This was so cool.. They let you pick up the baby turtles which kinda freaked me out but it was still a cool experience.

My little frend.

D's BIG friend.

The family

So after that we booked it back to the boat and sailed away to our SECOND STOP at Cozumel... Here we planned our day a little bit better and I swam with the dolphins.. We kissed them and held them. Derick didn't go in with me but he enjoyed filming my dolphin excursion and taking pictures.

Us in some huge chair..

Lastly we went to our third and final stop at Jamaica... I think I was a little blind with my hopes of Jamaica..... It was really dirty and lots of groady people. We were offered drugs like from every local. It was sick. Sadly we only got off the boat for like 2 hours and then decided to get back on. We still toared around for a bit and enjoyed the scenery but nothing too exciting happened here.

Isn't he so freakin cute!! I love this pic of him.

This lady wouldn't take the picture unless we tipped her first.... ha ha

So all and all our honeymoon was amazing. I truly recommend this for a honeymoon. It was so nice to not have to worry about things and to just go with the flow. We were entertained the entire time, with all the Carnival activities and food and ice cream man we were set. I love Derick and loved our honeymoon experience. Hope to attend another cruise soon. :)

Our wedding day!

Beautiful Bountiful Temple!

Derick and I got married on April 3rd, 2009 at 10:45 AM in the Bountiful Utah Temple and we were sealed for all time and eternity. YES! Ok, so i know we got married a year ago, but since i'm brand new to the blogging world, i thought i'd post some pictures of the best day of my life so far! Some of the things that I most remember from that day is obviosuly the snow. Being from Arizona I never pictured myself really having an actual white wedding but it truly was. The drive up was scary but everyone made it and our pictures turned out great.

Yep we totally tripped on the carpet on the way out but we had to make an enterance right.. luckily we didnt fall on our faces. :)

Newlyweds

I love the snow in this picture.. totally cool.

Our unbelievable rings!! Bling Bling!

Sisters and bridesmaids

I really wish that my veil wasn't covering my face cause this would have been a awesome picture... he he

We had a lunch-in following the temple ceremony at Rodezio Grill in Salt lake and then after that had our reception at the North hampton house in American Fork. It was a very classy place that had tons of room for our family and friends.

The new Shumway family!

Cutting our gorgeous cake!

Temple Temple Temple....

Well hello all you bloggers... We are officially bloggers now...YES Ok so maybe I am officially a blogger. I don't know how much you will hear from my lovely husband on here but here we go. So how cool is it that our very first post will be about the unbelievable TEMPLE!! I think it would be one of the coolest things to travel the world and attend as many temples as I could, how cool would that be?? ha ha So anyways this last week our great family and friends went to the temple to celebrate the endowment and sealing session of our dear friends the Palazzolas!! What a great family these people are. We feel so blessed to have them in our lives. It is so neat to see the Lord's hand in everything. To witness first hand the impact of missionary work is awesome. Derick baptised Antonio just almost two years ago in his San Bernadino, California mission. I am so proud of my baby. He was a great missionary and served everyday. Actually one of my fondest memories was when we were first dating and Derick was bummed one day and I asked him if he was ok.. He said babe I miss my mission... He is such a sweetheart!! I know someday we will be able to go out in that mission field together. I am so excited for that.
